Why Our Scents Come From Plants, Not Labs
Buzz Botanicals is committed to using products with ingredients that feel good, smell beautiful, and align with a more natural way of living. If you read on you’ll understand why I chose the name Buzz Botanicals, and why we use essential oils instead of synthetic fragrance oils whenever possible.
Essential oils are derived directly from plants—flowers, leaves, bark, roots, and fruits—through processes like steam distillation or cold pressing. Because they come from real botanical sources, essential oils offer aromas that feel softer, more complex, and closer to nature than many manufactured scents.
Unlike fragrance oils, which are lab-created and often contain undisclosed synthetic ingredients, essential oils are composed of naturally occurring compounds found in the plant itself. Many people appreciate essential oils for their transparency, their connection to nature, and their long history of traditional use.
Using essential oils also means each product reflects the natural variability of the plants they come from—no two batches are ever exactly the same. We think that’s a benefit, not a flaw. It’s a reminder that our products are made from natural materials, not mass-produced formulas.
Essential oils cost more to source, but our thoughtfully concentrated formulas mean you need less per use, making each product last longer and go further. What’s more, concentrated formulas don’t just last longer—they reduce waste and support a more sustainable way of creating and consuming.
